What is penile dorsal nerve?

The penile dorsal nerve is a branch of the pudendal nerve, which originates from the sacral nerves in the spinal cord. It innervates the dorsal (top) surface of the penis, including the glans (head) and shaft. The penile dorsal nerve plays an important role in sexual sensation and orgasm in males, as it carries sensory information from the penis to the brain. Damage or injury to this nerve can result in sexual dysfunction, including loss of sensation and difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection.
